Get connected to Lincoln’s entrepreneurial community.
Have you been interested in or curious about entrepreneurship, startups, or starting a new business?
Join us at Spotlight!
Each month, Spotlight is hosted at a different location. We’ll learn something new from our hosts – anything from screenprinting to making sweet potato ice cream. We’ll also do some activities to help you brainstorm new ideas and give you a chance to share a business idea you’ve been thinking about starting.
ALL kinds of business ideas are welcome – from a local cupcake shop to a high tech startup. This is a friendly, supportive place for ALL new entrepreneurs.
And best of all, we’ll help you figure out your next steps to getting started after Spotlight and help you get connected to resources in the community that can help you.
What is Spotlight LNK?
Spotlight LNK is a free monthly event where you are welcome to come share business ideas, hear other people’s ideas, and get connected to entrepreneurial resources in the community. If you’ve been curious about startups, starting a business, or entrepreneurship, please join us! This is a fun way to meet others and get connected to Lincoln’s rich community of events, services, and support.
Who can come?
Everyone is welcome! You can be new to the idea of starting a business or be working on your third startup. People of all ages, diverse backgrounds (especially women and people of color), and experience levels are welcome.
Do I have to share an idea?
No! It’s great if you have an idea you’d like to share. There will be time for you to talk and get help and ideas from the other attendees. We also do an Ideastorming activity each month to help everyone come up with other ideas as well. It’s also ok if you just want to come and participate, without having or wanting to come up with an idea for a new business.
Where and when is Spotlight LNK?
The location of Spotlight LNK changes every month to a fun, new venue. We will learn a different interactive skill each month too. Keep an eye out for the location and date of each Spotlight on the Facebook page.
“It’s not important, if your idea is ready or not. All of the other participants can help you get it ready and eventually show you an unexpected iceberg, so you don’t wreck your boat.”
